In August 2019, fresh out of college and searching for a Front-End Developer role, I landed an opportunity at DoYourThng (DYT)—a Gurgaon-based startup redefining micro-influencer marketing. What started as an application for development quickly transitioned into a UX Design role after my problem-solving skills and design approach stood out during an assignment test.
Joining DYT in its early stages, just one year into its journey, gave me the chance to build from scratch—designing and developing their first product, a creator marketing platform.
DYT Club, the second product, emerged as a solution for instant creator discovery and collaboration testing. It aimed to streamline the process of finding and partnering with creators based on preferences and trends—a concept tailored for brands and marketers looking for quick, data-driven decisions.
This case study unpacks the journey of designing DYT Club—from identifying gaps in the market to building a scalable platform that simplifies influencer collaborations and enables brands to discover creators effortlessly.
Shortly after joining DoYourThng (DYT), I had an insightful conversation with Ankit Agarwal, the CEO and founder of the company. He shared his vision for DYT—a platform designed to revolutionize marketing by making it affordable, accessible, and impact-driven. The mission was clear—empower brands to reach wider audiences without the need for heavy investments in traditional advertising. Instead, DYT aimed to leverage the power of influencers and creators to amplify their campaigns organically across all audience tiers. With an initial funding of $150K, the company set out to prove that impactful marketing doesn’t have to come with a high price tag. By connecting brands with micro and macro influencers, DYT enabled campaigns to reach millions of followers, driving authentic engagement and measurable results. This vision laid the foundation for DYT Club, the second product, which focused on instant creator discovery and collaboration testing, extending the company’s commitment to streamlining influencer marketing.
Before diving into DYT Club, it’s important to highlight my work on DYT’s first app—a creator-first influencer marketing platform. This platform was designed to connect creators with brands, enabling them to create and share campaigns exclusively on Instagram while earning payments for their promotions. The platform’s goal was to simplify influencer marketing by offering creators an easy-to-use interface to collaborate with brands, generate sponsored posts, and track campaign performance. One of the key challenges was competing with MNFST, a well-established platform in the influencer marketing space. However, DYT carved its niche by focusing on micro-influencers, providing cost-effective marketing solutions for brands of all sizes. This experience of designing DYT’s first app from scratch laid the foundation for my approach to building DYT Club—extending the platform’s capabilities to instant creator discovery and collaboration testing, setting new benchmarks in influencer marketing tools.
DYT Club is the second product by DoYourThng (DYT), designed to simplify creator discovery and collaboration testing for brands and marketers. Building on the success of DYT’s first influencer marketing platform, this app introduced a faster and more personalized approach to connecting creators with the right opportunities.
The platform focuses on helping brands and marketers find influencers based on preferences, audience size, and content categories—streamlining the process of collaborations while offering testing tools to validate partnerships before scaling campaigns.
DYT Club reimagines influencer marketing by enabling:
By combining targeted discovery and collaboration flexibility, DYT Club empowers brands to execute cost-effective marketing strategies while helping creators build meaningful partnerships. This platform not only simplifies influencer marketing but also expands opportunities for brands to test campaigns quickly and optimize results.
For creators, finding like-minded collaborators and building meaningful connections often felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. Existing platforms lacked the tools and filters to help creators discover others with similar styles, interests, or audience reach, making collaborations time-consuming and unorganized.
Key Challenges Identified:
These challenges highlighted the need for a creator-focused platform like DYT Club—a space where creators could easily find collaborators, filter preferences, and test connections before diving into partnerships, enabling them to grow faster and work smarter.
creators reported difficulties in finding collaborators with matching preferences and goals.
influencers expressed a need for location-based filters to discover creators nearby for collaborations.
preferred tools for remote content creation, enabling collaborations without physical meetings.
highlighted the importance of filtering categories and audience size to make better collaboration decisions.
The design process for DYT Club began with a morning call in Gurgaon with Ankit Agarwal, the CEO, and Dea Srivastva, who led the campaign and community team. These early discussions provided critical insights into the ongoing social media trends, creator behaviors, and content preferences, setting the foundation for the platform’s design direction. Dea’s in-depth knowledge of campaign performance and community management offered clarity on the pain points creators faced and the features they needed most.
While coordinating closely with the tech team in Bangalore, I handled the project remotely—a process that quickly taught us the value of adaptability in the post-COVID remote work era. Regular virtual syncs helped align teams, enabling us to brainstorm solutions, discuss timelines, and address blockers effectively.
I began by creating low-fidelity wireframes that captured the key workflows, from content preferences to location-based discovery. After presenting these concepts to the team and incorporating feedback, I refined them into high-fidelity prototypes, adding visual styles, animations, and interactive elements that emphasized speed, usability, and engagement.
Recognizing the need for a mobile-first experience, I prioritized seamless navigation, quick onboarding, and intuitive filtering systems to help users find collaborators faster. Once the designs were finalized, I collaborated with the development team to ensure accurate implementation.
This phase also included extensive testing—gathering feedback through internal reviews and remote usability testing to validate interactions and fine-tune features. With every iteration, we pushed closer to our vision of building a dynamic, user-centric platform tailored for creators to connect and collaborate instantly.

The next step in building DYT Club was mapping out the user journey to ensure the platform delivered a seamless experience for creators. This process began with brainstorming sessions involving Ankit Agarwal (CEO), Dea Srivastva (Campaign and Community Lead), and Shekhar Singh (Product Manager). Together, we analyzed user behaviors, explored collaboration needs, and identified pain points that shaped the product’s flow.
With their insights, we defined how creators would navigate the platform, from onboarding and setting preferences to discovering collaborators and starting conversations. This approach allowed us to prioritize user-centric design decisions, focusing on intuitive steps for quick filtering, location-based discovery, and collaboration testing.
The user journey map became the blueprint for the product, helping visualize entry points, interactions, and outcomes—ensuring every feature aligned with real user needs and supported creative collaborations effortlessly.

While embarking on the design process for DYT Club, the goal was clear—simplicity and intuitive user interaction. During brainstorming sessions with Ankit Agarwal, CEO of DYT, we explored how to make the platform so seamless that creators could quickly interact and find potential collaborators without overthinking.
The Core Idea
Ankit emphasized that decisions should feel binary—as simple as:
This approach was inspired by apps like Tinder, where left swipes and right swipes simplify decision-making. Translating this concept to DYT Club, we aimed to create an experience that allows creators to make quick decisions about collaborations.
Design Direction
Instead of static profiles, I introduced dynamic interactive video cards—featuring short Reels-style videos. Each card would showcase:
This design choice made the platform feel personal and engaging, giving creators a quick glimpse into their potential match’s style and vibe—helping them decide whether to connect or move on.
Simplified Decision Flow
Swipe Right – Interested in collaborating, Swipe Left – Move to the next profile.
The design system for DYT Club was crafted to strike a balance between vibrance and minimalism, aligning seamlessly with the app’s goal of making collaboration fun and engaging for creators.
Inspired by bold and vibrant colors, the components were designed to feel dynamic and expressive, capturing the energy of creators and influencers.

DYT Club was a transformative project that tested my problem-solving skills and adaptability. Working remotely with teams across Delhi and Bangalore, I honed my ability to collaborate effectively and manage cross-functional workflows.
By introducing a binary decision-making flow—simplifying choices to yes or no—I ensured the platform was intuitive and easy to navigate for creators. Additionally, I used vibrant colors and a playful design language to make the interface feel fun, engaging, and aligned with the creators’ personalities.
This experience taught me to balance aesthetics with functionality, prioritize usability, and create designs that delight users while solving real-world challenges.
